Firsts and lasts - by Patricia

During the night we experienced our first Rwandan thunderstorm! The thunder really rolled across the rolling hills of Rwanda, and the rain on the roof left us wishing we could sleep in!! But, we had Compassion children to greet!

After breakfast, part of our team went off to do a little sightseeing while Lisa, Heidi, Villi and I were excited to see our Compassion sponsor children! Heidi and Lisa have two each, Villi has one, but also visited with her sister's sponsor child as well, and I have one. We were all happy to see how our sponsor children have grown and thrived since we saw them last. There were many hugs all around; soccer balls were kicked, jump ropes and hula hoops were tried out, coloring books were started, nails were painted! Gifts were exchanged between sponsors and children, we shared lunch at our guesthouse, and way too soon we had to say goodbye!!

The remainder of the afternoon was devoted to some power shopping before we met Pastor Frank Reynolds for dinner! It's hard to believe that tomorrow is our last day here. This trip has been fantastic, and I am already looking forward to the next trip!! NH, we will see you soon, but it's going to very hard to leave this beautiful country! ~ Patricia
