Our first day in Rwanda - by Rebecca

Our first day in Rwanda is coming to an end.

After arriving at 1:30am, we are all a little sleepy. We made it safely to the Iris Guesthouse. We also went to the Genocide Memorial in Kigali. It was absolutely moving to see the growth and transformation that this country has undergone in the past 24 years. Our translators are some of the best, Brenda and Angel. We did a little shopping after lunch in the mall and some of our team members also took the afternoon and shopped for necessary supplies for the work we will be doing throughout the rest of the time that we are here.

After a two hour van ride, we have safely made it to the Silent Hill Guesthouse, which will be our home base for a few days as we visit different villages. Please join us in prayer for our teammate, Sandy Collins, who wasn’t able to join us this trip. She is dearly missed and in our thoughts and prayers.
