Our Core Values

Core Values reflect the unique personality that God has given our church. Core values help us make decisions based on who we are—at our core. Core values describe how we believe God wants us to share life together on a day-to-day basis as we pursue the destiny to which he has called us. We are joyful and effective when we remain true to the following Core Values:

EXCELLENCE

We believe that excellence honors God and inspires people. Therefore, we relentlessly pursue excellence in all we do. We use evaluations, feedback, education, practice, creativity and hard work so that God will have our best.

Each one should test his own actions. Then he can take pride in himself, without comparing himself to somebody else
Galatians 6:4

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward.
Colossians 3:23,24

TEAMWORK

We believe in building and equipping effective teams. Wherever possible, we support team-based ministry rather than a ministry of one.

Two are better off than one, because together they can work more effectively.
Ecclesiastes 4:9

In Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.
Romans 12:5

Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.
1 Corinthians 12:27

AUTHENTICITY

We believe that Christ followers should manifest authenticity with God, within themselves, and with others. An authentic life is characterized by personal integrity, honesty, wholeness, and genuine friendships.

Our lives in this world, and especially our relations with you, have been ruled by God-given frankness and sincerity.
2 Corinthians 1:12

Each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one body.
Ephesians 4:25

GIFTED LEADERSHIP

We believe that churches should be led by godly men and women with leadership gifts. Our servant leaders strive to empower, equip, think strategically, and be intentional.

...if it is leadership, let him govern diligently...
Romans 12:8

It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, sot that the body of Christ may be built up.
Ephesians 4:11,12

CULTURAL RELEVANCE

We believe that the church should be culturally relevant while remaining true to Scripture. We strive to sensitively relate to our culture through our campus, printed materials, teaching, and use of the arts.

Though I am free and belong to no man, I make myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God's law but am under Christ's law), so as to win those not having the law. To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.
I Corinthians 9:19-23

The word of God is living and active.
Hebrews 4:12
