New Horizons Soup Kitchen

Description:
The New Horizons Soup Kitchen is a place where very poor people, those whose paths in life have met with devastating financial circumstances and the homeless come to receive a hot meal, encouragement and companionship in a place where they are treated with dignity and respect. The Soup Kitchen serves breakfast for Shelter guests daily. It also serves a complete dinner to seniors (over 50) at 3:00 p.m. (weekdays) and for those over the age of 18 beginning at 4:30 daily. The Soup Kitchen typically serves 200 meals a day.

Volunteer Opportunities:
Volunteers help to prepare meals each day. Teams or groups of people also volunteer to serve dinner each evening. This is a great way for coworkers and community groups to get together and do something to help the community. The volunteer commitment is serving dinner followed by helping to clean the kitchen and yes, dishes.
